Marineide Fonteles dos Santos

Marineide first opened the doors of his home in order to house members of a film crew! The film, a feature called "House of Sand", was being filmed in the town. However, as the city did not have enough beds to host the cast and staff, Marineide decided to help.

His house was well attended (with renowned actors such as Fernanda Montenegro and her daughter Fernanda Torres) during the 3 months of filming. The cast also chose his home as the host for the farewell party, as it had a wonderful backyard with plenty of trees and ample space. Since then, he has continued to receive people in his house, because he realized that his day-to-day interest is serving other people (visitors) who wish to enjoy the convience and comfort of local residents' daily lives. 

Today, San Jose is integrated with the Department of Tourism Santo Amaro, supporting training and improvements in service and participating in the development of ethical attitudes and welcoming procedures.
